North Haven Public School defends the Schubert 7s Legends' title

North Haven Public School's 7-a-side rugby league team has successfully defended the Schubert 7s Legends' title.

A team from North Haven Public School also won the title in 2018. It's the first time any school has gone back to back since the competition began.

Government, non-government and independent schools from the Camden Haven, Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Crescent Head districts are all eligible to contest the Schubert 7-a-side competition.

A school spokesperson said North Haven finished first in pool A after playing games against St Joseph's Kempsey No 2, Smithtown and Westport Public schools.

The team progressed to the semi-finals, where they met St Joseph's Kempsey No 1. North Haven took out the semi-final with a score of 20-8.

North Haven and Westport, the two semi-final winners, progressed to the final.

The school spokesperson said it was an exciting match and North Haven once again dominated their opposition, winning 20-12.

The team will compete at the Regional 7-a-side finals in Coffs Harbour later this month.

Players hope to defend the title they won in 2018.

North Haven's winning squad is Adam (captain), Josh W, Zak, Logan, Beau, Hamish, Nate, Jackson, Jaiah, Isaac and Josh H (absent).
