Port Macquarie-Hastings artist Kim McLean's design was chosen as the winning creation from the mural design competition, launched by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in partnership with the Bonny Hills Progress Association (BHPA).
It will take Ms Pascale about a week to paint the design on the amenities block. It's expected to be completed on Sunday, September 15.
The weather conditions through the week have made painting a challenge for Ms Pascale. She needs to take short breaks to shelter from the cold and resume when the wind dies down.
Ms Pascale said the process to bring the mural to fruition has been a long one, with many hours going into preparation and planning.
The design was first projected onto the panels of the amenities block so Ms Pascale could sketch the outline of the artwork.
Ms Pascale said it was important to match the colours, due to the design having such an extensive and vibrant range.
In June, Ms McLean said she hoped the artwork brings a bit of fun and laughter into people's day.
Ms McLean is a Port Macquarie-Hastings resident and a local artist. She has three children and fond memories of spending time at Rainbow Beach with them.
"My design was based on those memories of Bonny Hills and everything there is to see and do there," she said.
