REVVING UP: Moto Fest organisers Jenny Pursehouse and Todd Taylor get ready for the big celebration of motorcycles at Wauchope Showground on Saturday.

Motorcycle fans and their families will converge on Wauchope Showground for the annual Moto Fest, and this year, it will be bigger and better than ever.

The event, on Saturday September 14, celebrates Wauchope's third year as the first motorcycle friendly town in New South Wales, and raises awareness about these gleaming machines.

Wauchope is the gateway to the Oxley Highway, which is considered one of the great motorcycle rides in Australia.

Organiser Jenny Pursehouse said last year, a thousand people came for the day, and hopefully there will be even more this year.

"It should be a really good day. We have a couple of special guests coming this year. They are Fat Bob and the Blonde and The Aussie and the Indian, and you can look them up on Facebook, where they have some really interesting pages," she said.

There will be an exciting ride-in by feature group, Ducati, which draws the guests, and motorcyclists will put their riding skills to the test in the gymkhana. Moto Fest also included a show n shine, swap meet, tattoo show, music and children's activities.

Organiser Todd Taylor says a great array of motorcycles will be on display, ranging from road bikes to cruisers, sports bikes and custom bikes. The council have funded a trailer to carry all Moto Fest's safety gear.

"Give us a wave if you see us going around. We really appreciate having this trailer and we're very grateful to the council," he said.

Moto Fest is on Saturday September 14 at Wauchope Showground from 9am - 4 pm. It costs $10 entry for adults. Kids under 18 get in free with adults.
