And now there is a beautiful pottery, ceramic and art business here in Port Macquarie where you can do just that.
Sue Brangwin launched her dream business only in February, but already her classes are proving a resounding hit.
From retirees to pre-school kids, there's something for all ages to enjoy.
Sue says her business is about making people happy and Clay Koala is a large happy space. "Pottery and ceramics are for everyone," she says. "Boys love it, so it's not just for girls."
"Having a passion for creating with clay myself, it is a joy to guide, teach and support people of all ages,"
Sue got her business off the ground with support from her husband Robert and daughter Olivia.
She also employed local tradespeople, used recycled materials wherever possible and shopped from The Tender Centre and Willing and Able.
If you've not already used your Creative Kids Vouchers, during October's school holidays there are two days just for children on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
It's $100 per day and you can use your voucher for a full day or a half-day.
But do hurry, spaces are filling up fast.
You can find Clay Koala on Merrigal Road, right next to Jumbos. For more visit www.claykoala.com.au.
