Ric passed away on Sunday, September 29 after she fought hard against a brain tumour.
"Ric has fought the biggest fight, she looked it fair in the eye and punched well above her weight," Ric's husband Mick said in a post on social media.
"Ric was initially told she had three months and she would lose use of her whole left side.
"Ric refused to accept that as there were so many things she wanted to do."
Over the past year and two days, since she was diagnosed, Ric has spent every spare second with her children.
Mick said she also took the the opportunity to tick a lot of things off her bucket list, all of which involved their three kids.
"Ric loved our kids immensely and this was returned in bucket loads by our kids," he said.
Although Ric was undergoing horrendous treatment, Mick said she always did it with a smile and a laugh, while staring the tumour in the eye.
"To say that she will be sorely missed is a massive understatement," Mick said.
"Although our family friends and community are devastated by our loss, we are blessed to have been so lucky to have known such a wonderful loving mum, lady, friend and nurse."
The Camden Haven community rallied behind the Walker family with a special fundraising event in January this year.
Mick said Ric loved living life.
"She loved our community and was overwhelmed by the love shown to her in return," he said.
