Married at St Johns Church in Taree on October 3, 1959, the couple say they have spent the last 60 years enjoying each other's company and living life together.
Pamela June Bird (nee Crossingham) was just 19 years old when she wedded Derek Ivan Bird who was 23.
The couple lived at Johns River where they had three children Mark, Janelle and Sharon.
They now proudly have five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who they adore.
The couple then moved to Kendall where they lived for many years as Derek worked at the Herons creek Timber Mill.
Pamela had various jobs over the years before managing the bistro at Kew Country Club for many years.
When the children were old enough they decided to travel around Australia before coming home and settling down close to home in Laurieton.
Pamela and Derek were surrounded by friends and family on October 5 when they celebrated 60 years of love and marriage.
The couple were delighted to receive congratulation letters from Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams, NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian, Lyne MP Dr David Gillespie, prime minister Scott Morrison, and her majesty the Queen.
