The golf day was to be held on Friday, November 15 and is chance to raise funds to financially help our local sporting stars to get to the next level.
The Mayor's Sporting Fund was established in 1999 by former Mayor, Wayne Richards.
The fund primarily provides financial assistance for elite athletes attending state, national and international competitions
The Mayor's Sporting Fund has provided more than $300,000 in financial assistance since it was established.
At the 2019 Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Awards held at Panthers, Port Macquarie on October 25, the 2019 Wayne Richards Sporting Scholarship was awarded to Luke Meier-Smith.
Meier-Smith attended the 2019 Australian Mountain Bike Championships and did very well.
