Marine Rescue units and surf life saving clubs are on standby to assist in emergencies relating to the current bushfire threat.
Fires are burning across the Port Macquarie-Hastings and the wider Mid-North Coast with some villages and towns possibly requiring emergency assistance.
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie unit commander Greg Davies says crews are now sleeping at their headquarters.
"We are on standby with vessels in the water," he said.
"Crews are are-site 24 hours and can be deployed to wherever we may be required.
"We will be on standby for the remainder of the week."
Mr Davies said all crews were fully trained and had the necessary equipment on board to undertake any role.
He said Marine Rescue would assist the emergency operations centre.
"We will provide assistance on our waterways and for residents along the water and across to the North Shore.
"Our crews are ready to go in case anything happens."

The Camden Haven unit commander Ken Rutledge said all members were just doing their job.
"We have been ready to help since Friday," he said.
"If Dunbogan gets cut (by bushfires) we will evacuate people over to the Camden Haven side of the river.
"Our training just kicks in - we have a couple of boat crews ready to go along with radio operators too."
Mr Rutledge said crews would work through the night.
Water Police and Maritime crews were also at the unit's headquarters.
Also ready to assist are surf clubs in the Camden Haven, Bonny Hills and Port Macquarie areas.
Mid North Coast director of lifesaving Paul Rayner says clubhouses have been offered as centres if required.
"We will offer any assistance, including clubhouses as temporary accommodation if needed," he said.
"That will continue until the bushfire threat is reduced.
"We are basically on call to assist the EOC as required, including providing still water (river) assistance."
