Spokesperson for the three Hastings NRMA branches and JTS, Debbie Heaney, said this year's donations will be going to Hastings Neighbourhood Services who provide a variety of community services that assist families, adolescents and older people in the community of the Wauchope, Port Macquarie and Laurieton region.
"Our NRMA offices in Wauchope, Port Macquarie and Laurieton are collection points for donations of new toys and non-perishable food items such as tinned foods, Christmas cakes and puddings and Christmas treats to make up hampers for these needy families," she said.
These donations will help support the Hastings Neighbourhood Services team who will host three special Food Connect events in Wauchope, Port Macquarie and Laurieton, in the lead up to Christmas.
People in need will be treated to a Christmas hamper, presents for the children, a visit from Santa, a cooked breakfast and some additional groceries to take home.
"The local generosity in our community is amazing. These donations and hampers have been gratefully received by our nominated charities each year," Debbie said.
If you can help JTS and NRMA staff support this wonderful annual Christmas Appeal, please drop your donations into one of the above NRMA offices by noon Monday, December 16.
