That's the question we're putting to you as we develop our next Community Strategic Plan and we're calling it Think 2050.

The planning is happening in collaboration with our entire community to identify and understand what we want for the future of our region.

This will help guide council's priorities and where to focus our efforts throughout our region during the next 30 years.

There will be lots of different and creative ways you can get involved: participating in our social media polls; answering our question of the week; coming to pop-up engagement sessions; registering for the Think 2050 Symposium; being a member of our round-table sessions.

One thing I love about our community is our diversity. We have a multitude of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, lifestyles, attitudes, and beliefs.

We want to hear from everyone so we can create a vibrant community that meets all our aspirations.

And we definitely need the children to speak up!

So mums and dads make sure you get them involved, because children aren't just the future, they are our here and now, and it's important that they're included in this conversation.

It's inspiring to hear from children who have big aspirations at such a young age.

I have seen a lot of this in the last few weeks, especially at the lighting of the Christmas tree in Port Macquarie, when an eight-year-old girl told me she wanted to be mayor when she grows up.

Whether they are big and bold, or small changes, we want to hear about any ideas you would like to see - nothing is off the table.

So don't be shy and let us know what you like, what you want, what you think needs to be improved, and how you see our region in the future.
