The group which is dedicated to helping do good in the community had a visit from their district governor Bill Shepherd for the money presentation on December 3.
Club president Phil Smith said it was a wonderful night hosted at the Lake Cathie Bowling Club.
"We are all so proud to be able to donate to local groups and organisations to help improve and strengthen our local community," Mr Smith said.
"We donated money to the Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills Rural Fire Service brigades who were instrumental in saving homes and lives during our recent fires and we were glad station captains Chris Brown and Glen Dunn were able to attend in person to accept the money.
"We also donated money for Lake Cathie Public School and to Willow Powick for the Wish for Willow cause along with $5000 to go to local disaster relief efforts.
"We are passionate about our community and want to ensure that we can help provide assistance when needed."
Mr Smith said he wanted to thank the community for supporting the club in 2019.
"We have hosted lots of barbecues and attended lots of functions including the thank you to the firies at Lake Cathie and we are so happy to be involved and help so many in our community."
On the night John Hayes received the highest honour in Lions a Melvin Jones award for his service to the community and Sandy Hayes was awarded the James Richardson Honour Award.
