The generous donation sees toys distributed to Wauchope District Memorial Hospital's Urgent Care Centre, Port Macquarie Base Hospital's Emergency Department, Maternity Unit and Paediatric Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, as well as Port Macquarie Community Health.
Hastings Co-op's Community Engagement Manager Tim Walker, who delivered the gifts, said it was a pleasure to be able to support the local community in such a way.
"Hastings Co-op understands the importance of family at Christmas time, and, for some people, a small gift from the co-op family may mean a lot," he said.
"We are a local co-operative where family is important, where we appreciate our customers, our staff and families and, most importantly, where we have come from.
"We intend donating toys to families affected by the bushfires and to families finding it difficult to make ends meet this Christmas. But we also wanted to send a special message of 'we're thinking of you' to the youngsters who may be spending some time in hospital or at a health clinic over the coming weeks and months."
The Mid North Coast Local Health District's Corporate Relations Manager, Sharon Fuller, thanked Hastings Co-op for its ongoing support of patients.
"We have a wonderful relationship with the co-op, which has a proud history of supporting our patients - from the very youngest to the oldest," Ms Fuller said.
"Their thoughtfulness and generosity will bring smiles to plenty of young faces this Christmas, so from all of our staff who will be treating or caring for paediatric patients over the next few weeks, we say a heartfelt thank you."
