NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) district officer Stuart Robb is urging members of the Port Macquarie-Hastings community to adhere to the total fire ban over the weekend.

A statewide total fire ban was declared for Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4, due to forecast hot and windy conditions.
A state of emergency was also declared by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, a decision which she said was not taken lightly.
Earlier on Friday, January 3 firefighters were called to an out of control blaze at Diamond Head Road, Diamond Head.
Temperatures across NSW on Saturday in some parts are expected to reach the low to mid-40s with very gusty winds.
Mr Robb said the Mid North Coast is not predicted to experience as extreme hot temperatures or strong winds as the south coast.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Port Macquarie is predicted to reach 33 degrees on Saturday and Wauchope a top of 36.
Mr Robb said as the community is in holiday season, it's important for people to discuss a bushfire plan with their family or the people they are staying with.
There are still a number of fires burning across the region, of differing levels.
Fire crews from the Hastings and wider Mid North Coast have been deployed to the south coast to help the fire effort.
