Regarding the state of Lake Cathie itself - the Council must conduct a review of environmental factors. Really.

There is no environment to review.
The lake between the bridge on Ocean Drive and east to the sea is filled with sand.
The plan should be to remove all the sand from this portion of the lake to allow some tidal flow. Then there might be some environmental factors to review.
When there is a problem, which is in the too hard basket, it is easy to call for a study or a review, or a committee to provide direction. Sound familiar?
I am informed that about 12 years ago Council had an offer of removing the sand at no expense - but didn't take up the offer.
Maybe a commercial solution to remove the sand, is a way by which Council could start the rehabilitation process.
