The 27-year-old allegedly advertised lucerne hay bales on social media for a discounted price and took a deposit, but then failed to deliver the fodder as promised.

Police said they were aware of at least nine victims who had lost at least $30,000 combined.

NSW Police Detective Inspector Cameron Waterside said the allegations "hit a new level of low".

"Since the arrest we have uncovered further victims and alleged victims in NSW and also one in the state of Queensland.

"I am confident that there are more (victims) out there and we're determined to speak to everyone and put these notes before the court and resolve them."

Det Insp Waterside said the investigation was ongoing.

"We've seized a number of items from a Villawood address, which we are examining.

"That includes electronic equipment that we will forensically examine to establish if anyone else was involved."

The alleged scammer was arrested in the western Sydney suburb of Villawood on Thursday morning and is scheduled to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Friday.
