Regional seniors are now able to apply for the NSW government's $250 Regional Seniors Travel Card which will ease the burden of travel costs for seniors living in the bush.

Travel was one of the most significant household costs faced by seniors living in rural and regional areas.
This card is about making it easier for seniors to access services, do their shopping and to stay connected with family and friends.
Eligible seniors will be able to use their card to purchase fuel, use taxi services or travel on NSW TrainLink trains and coaches.
This is also great news for regional businesses including fuel stations and taxi drivers as they too will benefit from the initiative.
Eligible seniors will have a minimum of 12 months to use their card from the time of activation.
To be eligible to receive the $250 Regional Seniors Travel Card you must be an age pensioner with a valid Pensioner Concession Card or hold a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card issued by either the Department of Human Services or Department of Veterans' Affairs. Seniors must also live in regional NSW outside Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong City Council boundaries.

Get your seniors concert tickets
Local seniors are being reminded that tickets are now available for the popular free Seniors Concert at Port Panthers.
I co-host the concert with Hastings Combined Seniors as part of the Seniors Festival with support from the NSW Government.
The $10,000 financial assistance will help to stage the free concert at Port Panthers on Wednesday February 19.
This year we have some wonderful performers including Sentimental Journey, the U3A Dancers, Khristina Joy and the Z Chords, Pete Di Losa, Sing Australia and two very special surprise performances.
Tickets for the seniors concert are available from Port Panthers. Doors open at 9am with a free morning tea. The concert will commence at 9.30am. The concert is popular in Port Macquarie.
