You could start with all the Marvel movies, back-to-back that would take two days, two hours and three minutes (excluding snack breaks, toilet stops and sleep).

Or maybe you have 276 hours spare to watch the first 29 seasons of The Simpsons, which is more than 11 days.

And then there is the nostalgia. Hours and hours of Disney's classics that are often locked in their vault.

The original Jungle Book, Robin Hood (the 1973 animated version), Bedknobs and Broomsticks and the Herbie movies will stir childhood memories.

But are these hours and hours of content enough for people to subscribe?

The answer is yes if you want to rediscover past favourites or introduce your children or grandchildren to the world of Disney, Marvel or The Simpsons.

If you are looking for fresh content then not yet. Okay, Toy Story 4 and the 2019 remakes of The Lion King and Aladdin have already been released this year but they were all box office smashes so are not fresh.

You will have to wait for new series such as the Marvel TV spin offs such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier or WandaVision.

For those looking for edgier, darker or more challenging content then Disney + isn't going to appeal to you.

Despite the purchases of Marvel and Fox, Disney said it will remain family friendly.

Deadpool will have to find a different home for his unique humour.

At $8.99 a month, Disney + is cheaper than the base package of its main rivals in Australia (Netflix and Stan) with the perks of their more expensive packages (for example multi-streaming).

Many would buy this as an second streaming service for nostalgia or their kids but I wouldn't recommend it as a standalone at this point. Unless you plan on only watching The Simpsons for the rest of the year.
