Riley Papas is coach of the first grade men's side and said the boys are eager for the official season to begin.

"We have a very similar side to last season and we are building on the skills and knowledge of the boys," Papas said.

"The boys are all pretty young so experience is an issue but they are all really eager and keen to get back onto the field.

"They are all pretty fit which is great and we are starting to move into the skills and tactics side of training before our first game in a few weeks."

Papas said the last 12 months have been a learning curve for everyone but he is confident the boys will give it their best shot.

"Finals is always the goal," he said.

"I always say the goal has to be making it to the end of the season and this year we will be aiming to be in the top half of the table with a firm goal to make it as far as possible."

The football season officially begins on March 28.
