A Severe Weather Warning is current for Very Heavy Rainfall, Abnormally High Tides, Damaging Surf and Damaging Winds for many districts including the Mid North Coast.
River Height Predictions
The Hastings River at Kindee Bridge peaked near 4.20 metres below minor flooding Sunday morning. The Hastings River at Wauchope peaked at 2.4 metres around 1:15 pm with near minor flooding. The Hastings River at Settlement Point peaked at 1.1 metres around 9:45 am with near minor flooding.
Renewed river level rises to the minor flood level are possible Hastings River at Settlement Point Monday morning with high tide.
What the SES are expecting:
- At Settlement Point and surrounding areas flood waters may start to impact low lying roads and bridges including: Hastings River Drive and Settlement Point Road
- North Shore - Shoreline Drive, Wombat Close, Dolphin Court & Marlin Place Maria River Road
- The Hibbard Ferry may cease operations
- At Wauchope and surrounding areas flood waters may start to impact low lying roads and bridges including Bains Bridge.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a final minor flood warning for the Camden Haven River which has fallen below minor flood level at Laurieton.
Further rainfall is forecast which could cause renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and a flood warning may be issued if necessary.
What the SES are expecting: Camden Haven River: The Camden Haven River at Laurieton has fallen below minor flood level.
What you need to do:
- People in areas likely to be impacted by flooding need to consider the following:
- Refraining from driving or walking through flood water
- The impact of possible road closures and flood isolation on (health and safety), work, family and educational commitments
- Monitoring emergency warnings and severe weather updates on local ABC radio, NSW SES Mid North Coast Facebook Page and Bureau of Meteorology website If your property is at risk of inundation, please raise moveable items, such as furniture, as high as possible onto benches or tables, placing electrical items on top
- If you live in a low-lying area and are advised by an emergency services officer to evacuate, please do so
- Securing outside belongings and before leaving; turn off the power, water and take essential medicines and clothes with you
- For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500. In life threatening situations call triple zero (000) immediately.

The NSW SES Port Macquarie Unit had a busy week with last Monday's storm damage and then heavy rain this weekend.
"We have been monitoring the weather conditions. We got coastal rain on Saturday and just a few jobs," said Port Macquarie SES Unit Commander Michael Ward.
"On Sunday, the Bureau of Meteorology issued a minor flood warning. It got to 1.1 and 1.2 is the flood level so it was still four inches to go, but we got to minor flood level. A lot of rain has been coastal. We have crews dealing with trees down and leaking roofs.
"We have had crews out all day Sunday with about 18 jobs overnight and during the day, which made 20 in total over the weekend We have been monitoring the level of the Hastings river. We always warn people not to walk, ride or drive through flood water. We want people to respect the road closed signs. If it is flooded, forget it. Don't put yourself, your family or the SES volunteers in danger.
"The last thing we want to do is put our own lives in danger to rescue someone who is in trouble after driving through flood water, and take a crew off the jobs they are doing. We are trying to help being in as timely a manner as we can. There are simple steps people can do to protect themselves, like clean gutters and trim branches," said Mr Ward.
The NSW SES Port Macquarie unit will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds. The council has closed the road to North Brother because of debris on the road. Houston Mitchell Drive and Bain Bridge near Beechwood have been closed.
