The Rotary Club of Laurieton arranged a meeting, for interested members of the community, at the Laurieton United Services Club on February 10 to hear a presentation from Dr. Angela Frimberger on the impact of climate change on the environment and measures to mitigate this impact.

Dr. Frimberger displayed graphic images of the impact of climate change at a number of locations around the world.
Specific reference was made to the devastating impact of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef a spokesperson for the club said.
"Following the presentation Dr. Frimberger responded to questions and expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to convey her concerns for the need to meet the challenges that lie ahead and the urgent need to protect the natural habitat and environment."
