There are now 26 cases in the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area. There are no patients in hospital on the Mid North Coast and 39 people have completed their 14-day isolation period.
Statistics on the NSW Health website as of 8pm on April 20 shows that:
- 26 of the 48 cases on the Mid North Coast are in the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area. There are no cases in hospital on the Mid North Coast and 39 cases have completed their isolation period.
- The 48 confirmed cases from 3703 tests conducted (up until 8pm, April 20) represents a 1.30 per cent positive test rate to date for the Mid Coast Health District.
- Across NSW, 2969 people have contracted the virus (up until 8pm, April 20). 1755 people have recovered. There have been a total of 30 deaths across the state.
- Of the 6,642 cases in Australia, 4,685 have now recovered. There have been 71 deaths nationally. There is a 99 per cent recovery rate for all closed cases.
A preliminary analysis on information collected from over 2,000 case interviews in NSW showed:
- 50% of cases had recovered after 16 days
- 75% had recovered after 3 weeks
- 95% had recovered after 6 weeks.
NOTE: The number of confirmed cases can increase or decrease depending on a patient's home jurisdiction. A patient tested in NSW may live in another state, and so will be removed from the NSW total. They will be included in the totals of those states.
Members of the community can help to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by staying home where possible, washing their hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub, covering coughs and sneezes, maintaining social distance and observing rules on social gathering.
COVID-19 TESTING CLINIC OPEN
The District has opened a COVID-19 assessment clinic at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. Clinics also opened in Coffs Harbour and Kempsey. Call 1300 001 956 for details.
The Port Macquarie clinic is open from 10am to 4pm weekdays. Patients are asked to present to the emergency department where they will be assessed and directed to the clinic as required.
