The group is hosting the activity on Saturday, April 18 to promote exercise and comply with social distancing restrictions.

Event organiser Lyn Groves said it will be a relaxing, non-strenuous event.

"We are heading down from the Herons Creek winery, to Queens Lake and back again," she said.

"People can bring their own kayaks and anyone who has a kayak would be able to do it. Even in a double kayak people are well apart and singles would be fine.

"It seems that in today's environment all our activities for pleasure have been taken from us but getting on the water in your own kayak is both pleasurable and gets you out of the house."
