I've been chatting with owner Lachlan about the reasons we all need to support local business.
Lachlan shared his thoughts with me that it's about keeping our local economy running and employing local people.
Benson's Barber Shop is great local business that is benefiting our community by cutting hair, which they're really busy doing at the moment.
He says the money that he and his staff earn then goes to support other businesses, in and around the Hastings, by buying up goods in shops and meals in restaurants.
That's really important, especially after everything we've been through, with the drought, bushfires, and COVID-19 still happening at the moment of course.
But we are coming out the other side.
We're opening up again, and we want everyone to get out and about safely and to support our local businesses.
It's little strip shops like this with the barber shop, the hair salon, the pizza place and the fish and chip shop, that are really important to go and visit.
These shops are across the road from our council building, and I know our staff support them very well.
For all of us that are business people, we put our blood, sweat, and tears into our businesses.
We really do put our necks on the line and invest our hard-earned money to back ourselves.
We need people in our community to support us.
Being a businessperson myself, I understand businesses like Benson's Barber Shop, and the other businesses here.
You might notice some new support local pavement stickers when you're out and about.
These are to remind us of the importance of all types of local businesses.
Whether they be cafes, restaurants, car detailers, grocery shops, fruit and veggie shops or professional businesses that have important services to offer - they all need our support.
So I'm asking you, let's all support local and keep our businesses in town so they can support our community.
