Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has inspected work on the upgrade with MidCoast Council's Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services Robert Scott.
"Hannam Vale Road is a very important route for not only the local residents of Hannam Vale, Waitui, Stewarts River, Johns River and Moorland, but also the region's beef, dairy, timber and horticultural industries," Dr Gillespie said.
"These federal funds have been made available under the Roads to Recovery program, which has also assisted with the earlier upgrade of Hannam Vale Road between Maynard Meadows Road and the Hannam Vale village."
Dr Gillespie and State MP for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams recently announced a further $3 million in funding under the Fixing Local Roads program towards the upgrade of Waitui Road and Hannam Vale Road which will be sealed from the existing end of the seal to the settlement of Waitui, taking in approximately 3.1km.
