Port Macquarie-Hastings artist Kim McLean's design was chosen as the winning creation from the mural design competition, launched by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in partnership with the Bonny Hills Progress Association (BHPA).

The original artwork was painted onto the facility in September, 2019, with the help of another artist Lucy Pascale.

Tragically the mural was destroyed when a fire ripped through the amenities block in December, 2019.

Bonny Hills Progress Association president Roger Barlow said it was great to see the artwork return to the location.

He hopes it can help put a smile on people's faces, given there is so much tragedy in the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ms Mclean painted six large panels at her home studio to form the mural on one side of the amenities block.

The panels were transported and installed on Friday, July 24.

The second mural differs slightly to the first, as Ms Mclean added some extra elements to the artwork.

"I added my own inspirational touches along the way," she said.
