The two over-35s sides faced off at Stuart Park in Port Macquarie on Saturday, September 12.

President of the Vintage Ports, Paul Smith said it was a tough battle and he was disappointed the team couldn't secure the win.

"The other team just got over us in the end, we dropped our ball and fitness was lacking," he said.

"The key to the try today was old age, old age of the opposition. I mean they fell down and there were lots of holes in the backline.

"Finishing one all in the competition just goes to show the toughness and ferocity of the game. We may be playing in the grand final against the Horns again.

"We will turn it on next time. We had no heart attacks and no injuries."

Wrinkled Horns captain Lance Kedward said the game was fun, frivolity and a lack of fitness.

"The draw resulted from a lack of talent on both teams, but a lot of heart from old rugby union players," he said.

"Every year it's a good fun time. Most of our players are old Vikings players and like to wear the colours, keep it going."
