This week I have been chatting with Kylie from Kylie's Art Studio.
She is super excited about Artwalk and the fact that it's also coming to Laurieton this year.
Artwalk 2020 is going to be a little different, as there won't be a main event where our community gathers in large numbers, because of health restrictions.
But the great thing is, with the new format, we now have a week-long event with even more opportunities to get your creative fix.
Make sure you mark October 1st - 8th in your diary.
This year you'll be able to enjoy Artwalk in Laurieton, Wauchope and Port Macquarie.
More than 70 businesses have partnered with local artists to display their work in what we're calling the "Longest Footpath Gallery".
They'll also be three artist markets taking place where you can browse and buy lots of different local creations.
And there will be more than 40 different arts and cultural satellite events to get involved in.
For businesses like Kylie's, COVID has meant her art studio has had to re-invent itself.
With some clever thinking she's been able to ensure the business can keep running, and that her loyal students can still attend classes, albeit in reduced numbers.
You're in for a real treat, as Kylie's Art Studio is part of the Laurieton Longest Footpath Gallery.
On display will be lots of great work by the talented students, and even work by Kylie herself.
If you want to see everything that's going on, you can pick a printed program from participating businesses, or jump online at portmacquarieinfo.com.au/artwalk to download your copy.
There's even a mobile app that you can download, with a great map that guides you around everything Artwalk.
We're so grateful that Artwalk 2020 is able to go ahead, and I look forward to seeing you out and about visiting all 70 businesses, if you can, between October 1st and 8th.
