While the upcoming season will be quite different, the club's mission to keep their community safe and teach surf life saving skills to local youth remains the same.
Nippers hit the beach every second Sunday. To further enhance skills, the club also conducts board paddling training every second Friday afternoon in the North Haven river baths.
"We combine fun, fitness and learning on the beach," Camden Haven junior activities coordinator Robert Dwyer said.
"Our training in the protected waters of the river means children who are new to riding a board can gain their balance and confidence under the watchful eye of our trained life savers and water safety volunteers. We find that our junior lifesavers in training improve their board riding skills more quickly using this combined training method."
