All eight clubs were represented at the annual meeting at the Wingham Services Club, where the format was decided.
"They're all keen to play football after what happened this season,'' Group Three chief executive Mal Drury said.
The clubs were against playing a three-round competition in 2021, so the season will be two rounds and two games.
Clubs also wanted an earlier start than was proposed for this year. Had the 2020 season gone ahead the first round would have kicked off on Saturday, May 2.
Next year, the first round of the Group Three comp will be on April 10 and 11.
The Indigenous All Stars/Group Three All Stars games is on Saturday, April 24, so there'll be no Group Three that weekend.
The June long weekend will also be free along with another free weekend in July to be used for any postponed games.
The grand final will be on September 12.
