It certainly has been a year like no other, and with the Christmas festive season almost upon us I'm really excited to tell you all about how we are going to celebrate and acknowledge our wonderful community this year.
As a community, we've not had the opportunity to come together to show gratitude, celebrate our community's resilience and reflect on a year that has been like no other.
We're not able to enjoy our traditional Countdown to Christmas event, so, we are excited to present something special, creative and new.
'The Christmas Bell - A moment for us all' is a COVID-safe virtual Christmas event that brings together our region's talented professional performing artists, passionate locals, and some special guests for an hour of entertainment that can be enjoyed right in your own home.
I'll be on my lounge with my best friend Harvey the Cavoodle to enjoy the production, and what a great opportunity it is for you too to gather family and friends, as together we celebrate the Christmas festive season and the year that was.
Make sure you're home at 7pm, Saturday, December 5, to be part of this wonderful event.
Along with professional performances, there'll also be interviews with inspirational locals, the unveiling of 'Gratitude Murals' that have recently being painted across our region, the lighting of the Christmas tree, and - especially for the kids - Santa will make a guest appearance.
I'm really encouraging everyone to speak with family and friends now, to lock in Saturday, December 5, to make the event even more special as we gather together, and settle in to say thank you, and celebrate what it means to be part of this wonderful community.
You'll be able to watch 'The Christmas Bell - A moment for us all' live on our YouTube channel.
And we even have a sneak peek of the production for you that is now on the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council website https://www.pmhc.nsw.gov.au/Community-Culture/Events/The-Christmas-Bell-a-Moment-for-Us-All.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you all online for event.
