The welfare organisation run by the Honour Church is taking a break from December 11 to January 4 this year as it moves to a different shop front in the Milton Circuit complex.
The site was previously housed the Hastings Aspergers and Autism Group before the premises was passed to the Hope Shop, said chaplain Mark VanDerVeer.
"We are moving from the southern end of the complex to the northern end and the local cafe will be moving up towards us as well," he said.
"We would usually take two weeks off anyway over Christmas, the move has extended that by a week.
"While it is a change for our 40 volunteers, I think it will be good for us in the long run I think. We work with community services and Centrelink to help people out.
"Every community needs a good op shop, because it's amazing how members of the public support op shops. We are appreciated of the support we get and we were glad that we didn't have to close."
Mr VanDerVeer said the hope shop had been closed during March and June earlier this year.
"We had to completely shut the doors at that stage, however the government helped us stay a float with their generosity and small business grants," he said.
"This year for everyone has been up and down, but we find now that things are coming back to normality."
