Bain Park, Wauchope Master Plan
The draft Bain Park Master Plan is now on public exhibition until December 16.
You can download a copy of the master plan here, or pick up a hard copy from the Wauchope Library or Wauchope council office.
Bain Park is an important cultural and recreational space for the community and a number of groups who both use and activate the space.
The park has been an intrinsic part of the Wauchope community since it was proclaimed a recreational area in 1889. Located in the heart of the Wauchope CBD, Bain Park is a key community meeting place, playing host to markets and events.
Over the last year, council has undertaken a series of comprehensive engagement activities to inform a draft master plan to guide future development of this space. The draft Bain Park Master Plan (the Master Plan) has undergone a series of revisions in response this consultation.
At the November 18 ordinary council meeting, council resolved to place revision three of the master plan on public exhibition.
Some elements of the plan, such as the options for the Wauchope Community Arts Hall and Rotary Youth Hall have been developed in direct response to the main user groups and current managers of those facilities.
Council will hold a pop up stand in Bain Park on Friday, December 4 from 11am-2pm for the community to ask questions, view the master plan and join a tour of the park with council's landscape architect.
Submissions close Wednesday, December 16.
Laurieton Town Centre master plan
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, in partnership with Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce (LTCMP Steering Group) and the community will undertake an Enquiry by Design (EbD) process to develop a master plan to revitalise the Laurieton Town Centre.
The Enquiry By Design workshops will be a multi-day planning and urban design forum exploring and testing designs, development ideas and options based on an understanding of local issues, opportunities, constraints and future trends.
There is a process in place to design the master plan by June 2021.
Council has allocated $100,000 to the development of the plan. The vision is to build a thriving, viable, well designed town centre, activate private and public investment maintaining a connection to environment and heritage, be a catalyst to revitalise retail and create a people-friendly destination
You are invited to register your expression of interest in joining the EbD workshops which will be held across three consecutive days on December 8-10, 2020 from 4.30pm-8.30pm at the Laurieton United Services Club.
Residents can also make a submission through council's online survey.
Submissions close Saturday, December 5.

Council is seeking community feedback on the concept designs, which can be viewed here.
You are also invited to register to attend the community meeting which will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 5pm-7pm, online via Zoom.
