Brilliant blooms and summer flowering orchids from vivid yellows to the most delicate pinks, evergreen bromeliads and foliage plants with exotic spikes are a special treat for the weekend.
This is the time of the year for Stanhopea Species orchids to be in bloom. Stanhopea orchids are grown in hanging baskets lined with paper bark or coconut fibre and flower out of the bottom of the basket.
The show will be open to the public on Saturday, January 9 from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday, January 10 from 9.30am to 3pm.
There will be exhibits by growers from Camden Haven, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Taree, Wauchope and Forster.
There will be no potting demonstrations to comply with social distancing regulations.
A society sales table for orchids, bromeliads, foliage plants and accessories will be available together with growing notes and advice from members on genera to be grown in the area.
The presentation of awards will be at 3pm on Sunday by a committee member of the Laurieton United Services Club.
Entry is $2 for adults, children free.
The show will be held under an approved NSW government COVID-19 Safety Plan.
