People can list their spare room or property on Flatmates' disaster relief emergency accommodation homepage and opt in as a "disaster relief listing" between March 26 and April 26.
They can then connect with those in need of short-term accommodation due to the floods and go from there.
Disaster relief accommodation through the share accommodation website must be free.
People displaced by the floods can find available properties on the website.
Flatmates community manager Claudia Conley said a lot of people were in need of somewhere to rest their heads until their homes became safe again.
"If you have a spare room and you are in flood-affected area and you are in a position to be able to offer your property or spare room for free temporarily, we urge you to list your property on our platform," Miss Conley said.
She said they were seeing the flood disaster images on television and across the web.
"We felt like this [initiative] was something we needed to do to help those in need," Miss Conley said.
"Everyone needs a place to rest their head.
"We would love to see as many people as possible using the service."
The share accommodation website has previously offered the initiative in response to other emergencies.
