The Camden Haven Historical Society is hosting walks from 9am and 11am on Saturday, April 17 from 58 Bold Street.
The guided historical tours are all part of the bicentenary celebration between April 10 and 18. Dozens of events are scheduled marking the region's 200th year since European settlement.
Camden Haven Historical Society president Phillip Bowman said as part of the tour people will be able to have a look through the museum.
"The walk will be centred around Laurie Street, which used to be the main street for the village of Camden Haven as it was called then," he said.
"We will go down through the school and explain where the oldest buildings in the town are. Down to Laurie Street to discuss the post office, first settlement site and old punt wharf."
The one hour walks will begin from the Camden Haven Museum, through the School of Arts Building and feature knowledge about the early history of Laurieton. The walk ends with a free visit to the museum.
The Camden Haven was an industrial powerhouse of timber mills and fishing industry run by groups such as the Laurie, De Fraine and Longworth families, according to Mr Bowman.
"The first settlers would have been associated with the penal settlement in Port Macquarie, whether they were convicts or not and the date we are not sure of," he said.
"The soldier's hut was established in the area of the swimming pool and that was built to shut the gate to Sydney for the prisoners. However we haven't established when this happened.
"We do know that by 1826 there was collecting of shells in the area and they were taken to be processed at the lime kilns in Port Macquarie.
"Eventually the timber mills came in after the depression and by 1900 Laurieton was the industrial heart of the area. Laurieton had (seven) timber mills and Port Macquarie was a little fishing village at that point."
The Camden Haven will also host the Laurieton Easter Markets on April 20 from 8am to 1pm and the Anzac Day Commemoration from 9am on April 25.
