Almost 115 surf life saving proficient members took part in regular rostered patrols for the club at Rainbow Beach before the season ended on Anzac Day.

Patrols were disrupted this year due to COVID-19, wastewater issues and flooding during the season, according to life member and club secretary Leanne Goggin.

"As the flags come down we are conscious we have had a great season, led by our board of directors who have done an amazing job," she said.

"Against all of the things thrown at us, the patrols and leadership team have held the club together.

"There were successes such as hosting Camp Quality and a fabulous fun day on the beach, after it was cancelled the year before. We also had members compete at state competitions this year.

"Even though the flags have come down for the season there's not really an off-season to rest because we need to plan ahead for the September and October school holidays.

"We need to look to next season because before we know it the beach will be open again."

The club is now calling for nominations before the annual general meeting at 10am on Sunday, August 8.

"As members step up or aside we're always looking for some support to fill those vital roles on the club board," Mrs Goggin said.

"Club positions are not onerous and always have support in their roles. Our handover documentation is quite good and we are well practiced at handing over with support in all the roles.

"If there are people in the community with skills such as finance, administration or education they can take a role and become part of a strong regional team."

Roles in finance, education, lifesaving, youth and on the club board are available.
