A boy charged with the stabbing murder of another teenager at a basketball stadium in Melbourne's outer west has faced court.

The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named, on Tuesday faced court for a filing hearing with his family in attendance.
He has been charged with murdering Bless Akoch, 17, inside Eagle Stadium at Werribee just before 6pm on Friday.
Bless was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
The 15-year-old was interviewed by police on Saturday before being released without charge. He was then arrested in Wyndham Vale on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wyndham Basketball Association said the incident was not connected to any of its programs or competitions on the night.
All domestic games were cancelled and the stadium remained closed over the weekend before reopening on Monday, with increased security and a Victoria Police presence.
The 15-year-old boy waved to his family in court before being led away by police.
He was remanded in custody and will next face court for a committal hearing on September 23.
