Titled "For Camden Haven", it was written and produced by local songwriter and musician Danny Lloyd.
It tells the story of the difficulties the region has faced over the last few years, through the drought and bushfires, to COVID-19 and the devastating floods.
Also it focuses on the incredible outpouring of community spirit, helpfulness and can-do attitude exhibited in the ongoing recovery.
Danny has said he would be delighted if other groups, particularly school children would like to sing and/or record the song and he would provide the music and backing tracks if they wished to do so.
For Camden Haven
When La Nia came, she brought the rain and then she brought some more
Summer falls raised waterfalls, then autumn came and it poured
Lovely weather for ducks and frogs, I think it rained both cats and dogs
Folks prepared against all odds, not knowing what was in store
For Camden Haven, and the northern half of the state
Communities threatened, by Mother Nature's dictates
Tough times arrived in 2019, with drought and then bushfires
Yet we all survived and even thrived, with the drive that was required
When Covid hit it was such a shock, a big setback as down we locked
Then came the autumn equinox, and we all know what transpired
For Camden Haven, we were ordered to evacuate
That Friday evening, the S.E.S. said, "Get out by eight"
The rivers rose in the hinterland, from Comboyne through to Lorne
Watson Taylors and Queens Lake filled, and spilled that Saturday morn
Through Dunbogan and North Haven, Laurieton, Kendall and Brigadoon
The river topped, thank God the rain stopped, and not a moment to soon
For Camden Haven, in the twenty twenty one flood
And the inundation, of our homes with water and mud
Daylight came and rescues began, as people salvage what they can
There were heroes on the streets that day, helping people in every way
Though recovery may take some time, the spirit's there to make that climb
What was lost bears such a cost, but what was found can make these towns
Of Camden Haven, Jewel of the Mid North Coast
Communities strengthened, in times when it mattered most
