Up to 120 players compete in the four man ambrose charity competition hosted at Kew Country Club each year.
Event organiser Simon Hancox said the competition is held each year in memory of well-known community icon Ian Barbato, who passed away suddenly in 2004.
"Ian loved to combine a good yarn with an adventure on the golf course. Every year since in his honour many of his friends and family gather at Kew to do the same and remember the great man," Mr Hancox said.
"As he was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back, all monies raised from the day will continue to be donated to the local Kendall Riding for the Disabled Association.
"This is a wonderful organisation with over $40,000 raised over previous 16 events."
The competition will feature a longest drive with extremely long club competition, novelty events, a raffle and presentation. The official start will begin with a shotgun start at 7.30am, according to Mr Hancox.
"The 'Bato' golf day has become one of the best supported social golfing days that the Camden Haven experiences," he said.
"Many players book in as soon as the previous year's day is complete, and for many, it's their only golfing day of the year."
Places are limited for teams of four to book by contacting the Kew Country Club on 02 6559 4596. The cost is $35 per player and includes a BBQ breakfast from 7.00am.
Pre-booked teams are asked to arrive from 6.45am to complete registration and collect their playing cards and enjoy a sandwich before play commences.
Prizes have been donated by PRDnationwide Laurieton, Laurieton United Servicemans Club, T-Bones Meats, Garels Golf, Dollar Savers Hardware, Laurieton Cellars Local Liquor, Camden Haven's Local Lawyer, Nelz Flipz and Chips, Pearl Bay Framing and Trophies, Painted Horse Tattoo, Laurieton Hotel, Laurieton Motors and Mechanical, Laurieton Auto Pro, Kew Corner Store, Delizioso and the Kew Country Club.
