Hazel and her late husband Norm ran a cattle farming property at Stewarts River in the Camden Haven for more than half a century.
She moved into Laurieton Lakeside Aged Care Residence earlier this year and will spend the special day with family.
One of Hazel's daughters Beverley Monck, who lives at Lighthouse Beach, said her mother loved the animals and living in the area.
"Her long term dream was to have a farm and they did initially have a dairy farm at Logan's Crossing," Ms Monck said.
"After they moved out of Logan's Crossing they became well known Lorne residents, living at Stewarts River Road for many years and loved their property there.
"It was such a pretty plot, they had cattle and general animals. It was the most beautiful spot and they used to call it their little piece of heaven."
Hazel married Norm when she was 21 years old after knowing him for only six weeks, they celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing 22 years ago.
"She was a very good mum and I think it's a great achievement to celebrate her 100th birthday" Ms Monck said.
"She was very much an outdoor person who gardened, loved nature and animals such dogs, horses and trees.
"She is a real goer and she had to get a passport when she was 84 years old to go on her for first overseas trip to the south island of New Zealand.
"She adored south island because it's so pretty and when we were ready to come home she didn't want to come back."
Hazel has two daughters, three grand children and five great grand children.
