The cafe made a long-awaited return to takeaway service in Kendall on August 20. A wooden arbor has been installed to mark the height of the floods at the cafe.
A food catering van called 'Travelling Millie' has been organised to serve coffee and cake on site by owner Jenelle Nosworthy.
"We still reopened on August 20 but we weren't sure what would happen with the lockdown. We just had a quiet opening to start doing takeaways," she said.
"In the first day we had a constant flow of people and there has been many questions about what we are planning to do because people are curious about the cafe. Business has been great, definitely worth being open.
"We have had some people order locally and from Laurieton. Probably the furthest order has been from Wauchope, we haven't had anyone from Port Macquarie probably because everyone is staying in their area and doing the right thing.
"When we were putting up the decorative arbor we realised it was very close to the actual flood height so we just decided to adjust it. It's become quite a talking point and in the future people can see where the flood height rose to 2.7 metres."
A GoFundMe page to help repair and rebuild Miss Nellie's Cafe has reached $34,444.
