The commemorative month is celebrated by the Australian Koala Foundation and culminates with a Save The Koala Day on September 24.
The trees were planted at the school by volunteers from Wauchope, according to Kendall Public School community liaison officer Kim Barry.
"A useful area of space was selected between the school oval and the rain-forest area, and approximately 100 koala food trees were planted," she said.
"A number of years ago we did have a koala that would appear on school grounds. It would often wander through the school after travelling from the bushland across the road.
"We can't wait for the trees to grow and entice koalas back into our school grounds."
This year the Australian Koala Foundation is celebrating 32 years of their annual awareness campaign Save the Koala Month.
"Each day we receive amazing stories from all over the world from people who are passionate about saving Koalas. The month is an amazing time where we get to celebrate our love for Koalas while raising imperative funds for their protection," AKF chair Deborah Tabart OAM said.
"Without the public's enthusiasm and support we would get nowhere. Everyone who stands up to protect koalas and participates in STKM is a hero in our eyes and this year we want to celebrate them."
