Op-stores are busy sorting through four weeks of donations and attending to an influx of customers, with staff returning to volunteer their time.
Anglican Op-Shop Laurieton coordinator Marie Pryor has been working at the store since it was opened in July 4, 1996.
"We were locked down for a month and everyone was anxious to get back to work. At the moment a few volunteers are worried about the people being caught doing the wrong thing," Ms Pryor said.
"It has been flat out busy since we opened and very busy days. People are so glad that we are back and look forward to coming in to have a chat.
"We have our regulars who have missed up and many people just want to get out of the house. We're hopeful that there won't be any cases in the area and there won't be another lockdown.
"We had left signs out to tell people not to leave donations while we were closed, but unfortunately people did and it just piled."
Kendall Community Op Shop coordinator Gerda Ashford said volunteers are happy to be back and so are the regular customers.
"We keep the volunteers informed during the lockdown and they were keen to come back. We make it known that if volunteers aren't comfortable coming back, if they don't feel safe it's up to them," Mrs Ashford said.
"Now that we're back people have had four weeks to clean out the cupboards and we are getting a lot of donations.
"We have regular customers who come in and have a chat with the girls on the till. As far as I can tell everyone is just so pleased that we are open again."
