Members and equipment prepared for another season on the sand this Saturday, September 18., according to Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club's Tony Worton.
The club captain said he is still waiting on dates for Nipper members to begin training and they could be delayed until after November this year.
Patrol numbers have also been lowered due to NSW Health and Surf Lifesaving NSW guidelines.
"We are having a number of meetings with Surf Lifesaving NSW about the guidelines. We can't have anyone under the age of 16 on patrol with us at the moment because they're not vaccinated," he said.
"We're all ready to go on Saturday and we're are also expecting a lot of people to be down at the beach. There will be one patrol each day and eight people in each patrol.
"We know that the flags are going up on the beach but it's hard to know what else we can do. We're still wearing masks on the beach, we are to hand first aid to the patient and only do major first aid.
"We're all looking forward to starting things off and we have got three patrols. We are hoping to get more members to start up with us this season and expand our patrols to four or five.
"We've already got a lot of members ready to do their training, but we are a bit held back at the moment."
The club captain is still fresh from winning the Surf Life Saver of the Year award at the Surf Life Saving NSW's annual awards of excellence event in 2020.
Other clubs back on the beach include Macksville- Scotts Head, South West Rocks, Hat Head, Kempsey -Crescent Head, Port Macquarie, Wauchope-Bonny Hills and Tacking Point.
