The public meeting is scheduled to be held at Laurieton United Services Club from 4pm to 5.30pm on Monday, October 25.
Chairperson Theo Hazelgrove said the lack of available emergency accommodation is clearly evident.
"In the last calendar year there were 85 people who were homeless and requested assistance from Community at 3," he said.
"The Community at 3 are looking to extend their role in the local community by providing a safe and secure venue to provide short and mid-term housing for individuals and families who find themselves in need of crisis housing.
"We are looking to purchase an accommodation property in the Camden Haven that will meet the current and future needs of our community.
"We are holding a planning meeting to start this process and we aim to have as many local community members, agencies and interested organisations attend as possible.
"We are particularly interested in people who would like to assist the Community at 3 bring this into reality."
Mr Hazelgrove thanked Rob Dwyer and the LUSC for their support of the meeting and in this project.
