The B2B pathway is a community driven project proposing a 11km continuous shared pathway between North Haven breakwall and Pilot Beach in the Camden Haven.
Initial sections of the pathway were constructed in 2003 in Laurieton, however sections remain unfinished in environmentally sensitive areas.
Committee members are now putting forward the idea of having an additional art trail featured at key locations along the pathway, according to B2B president Penny Small.
"The committee has agreed to start Art Along The Path project as part of Beach to Beach. The committee have put together a brief to feature original works from local Aboriginal artists along the pathway," she said.
"Along the 11 kilometres of pathway there are eight toilet blocks and when you look at them usually they're brick buildings and are pretty uninspiring.
"The idea would be to have a mural at each amenities block along the way, starting with the toilet block at Dunbogan reserve. It's a project within a project and the feedback has been 98 per cent positive so far."
Mrs Small said the group is hoping to attract artist and designer Angela Marr-Grogan, who won Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's Port Macquarie Airport Terminal Building Aboriginal Artwork Design.
"It would be amazing to work with Angela and get some of her class of 2021-2022 students involved. We have been given some grant funding through the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council art and culture program," she said.
"Ideally the final artworks would reflect the local environment, the local culture, first nations culture and unique design. Hopefully there will be a story attached to each mural reflecting local history and environment.
"The murals for each amenities block could be designed and then transferred onto graffiti proof aluminium board.
"These could be the beginning of an important Art Along The Path project at a time when we are moving forward from the floods and the fires."
Sunset Gallery Port Macquarie have agreed to photograph the artwork and the committee is currently looking for quotes to get the signage, Mrs Small said.
