The Royal Hotel Kew is ready to roll for Australia Day with organisers offering up free ice creams and a thong tossing competition for the kids.

The hotel will also feature an Aussie inspired lunch menu as well as a outdoor oyster, prawn and beer bar from noon on Wednesday, January 26.
Hotel director Scott Coman said the hotel is throwing open a fun filled day for all ages.
"The festivities kick off at 12 noon with our Aussie inspired lunch specials, outdoor beer/prawn and oyster bar and Australia day tunes playing throughout the hotel," he said.
"At 2pm we will have free ice cream for the kids and a thong throwing competition. The competition is for primary school aged children split into boys and girls categories, a special prize will be given to both winners."
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will be hosting the Port Macquarie-Hastings Australia Day Awards in Port Macquarie.
An online ceremony will be held to congratulate 28 residents as they make their pledge of commitment to the nation and become Australian citizens on the day.
