The hotel also featured an Aussie inspired lunch menu as well as a outdoor oyster, prawn and beer bar on Wednesday, January 26.
Glen Hoare, who attended the event with his family, said his kids enjoyed taking part in the thong throwing competition.
"It's an annual thing for us. My wife is Irish and so we try to celebrate Australia Day and St Patrick's Day for both cultures," he said.
"It's a chance to get together as a family, have a day off work and come together as one community."
Camden Haven High School student Patrick Umadhay, who graduated as school captain in 2021, said Australia Day is a chance to catch up with family after a hard school year.
"School results have only just come out and people are feeling pretty happy. It's been a tough year in 2021," he said.
"It feels really good to enjoying these kinds of events and experiences with my family. I'll be heading off to the University of Newcastle later this year to study music and performing arts."
