Growing kids: Laurieton United Services Club Garden Club president Judy Wills and treasurer Leona Marshall helped out year one students at St Joseph’s Primary last Wednesday afternoon with their science studies. The class had been learning about plants and the Garden Club members explained the lifecycle of plants. Students were then put to work “planting” mung bean shoots in jars of water.

For the past week the students have rinsed the seeds and watched them grow. The year one class will be harvesting their sprouts this afternoon and trying out a new taste sensation for many!
