Their amphibious plane ended up in the water about 2km from Queens Lake Sailing Club about 2.30pm today.
NSW Fire and Rescue from Laurieton were first on the scene and used a HAZMAT (hazardous materials) boat with a paramedic on board to rescue one man.
State Emergency Service volunteers retrieved the second man and also towed the boat to shallow water.
The plane is badly damaged – the hull was cracked as was the windshield – however both men are relatively unscathed.
Both were shaken and the pilot received minor cuts to his legs but were given the all-clear from paramedics.
NSW Fire and Rescue were on standby to deal with any fuel leaks but were not needed.
